This "green" 3D printer can print living designs using organic materials

Project PrintGREEN is turning 3D printers into on-demand garden enthusiasts after making a "green" 3D printer in 2013. The printer generates living prints, printing tailored things in a range of dimensions and also types. The task was created at the College of Maribor in Slovenia, envisaged by students Maja Petek, Tina Zidanšek, Urška Skaza, Danica Rženičnik and Simon Tržan, with help from their coach Dušan Zidar. The project's goal is to unify art, technology, as well as nature, artistically producing living designs with the help of modern technology.

The "ink" in the equipment is a mix of soil, seeds, and water which can be created to print in any form. After drying out, the muddy blend holds its form and also starts to sprout lawn from the organic material. PrintGREEN's motto is a twist on the old guardian motto, "believe before you print," informing their audience to "print, since it is eco-friendly."
